Emotional Driving and Road Steel present the study “Brazilians at the wheel, distractions and use of the cell phone”
Emotional Driving y Road Steel presented yesterday the study “Brazilians at the wheel, distractions and use of the cell phone” at the Paving Expo trade fair held in São Paulo. This is the first semi-attendance event in the Road Safety sector to be held in the country after the pandemic.
The study gathers the opinions of more than 1,000 Brazilians between 18 and 65 years of age. The most significant conclusion of this study, which you can access here, is that 77.88% of the Brazilian car drivers surveyed state that they are distracted when driving, 94% of them recognize that the improper use of cell phones is the main cause of distraction. On the other hand, 98% believe that technology can help them to drive more safely.
In addition, as a novelty, the study includes a section on motorists, given the high number of users who opt for this mode of transport in Brazil. 9 out of 10 Brazilians (92.86%) agree that motorcycles have the same rights to ride on the road as cars. Of these, 61.11% believe that they can coexist without a problem and 31.75% that they risk their lives doing so.
